HDF Java Products for 32-bit Object IDs (HDF5-1.8)

PLEASE be aware that the size of object identifiers changed from 32-bit to 64-bit with the HDF5-1.10 release. The HDF 4.2.12+ and HDF5-1.10 source code releases contain HDF Java wrappers (JNIs) that support 64-bit object identifiers. HDFView 3.0.0 Beta supports 64-bit object identifiers.

Latest Release:   HDFView 2.14, HDF Java 3.3.2       [ Newsletter 157 ]   [ Release Notes ]

The HDF Java Products for 32-bit Object Identifiers include and support:

  • HDFView 2.14 (plus the Object package)

  • HDF Java 3.3.2, the JNI wrappers for HDF 4.2.13 and HDF5-1.8.19 built
    with 32-bit object identifiers

  • JDK 1.7 and above

This release includes changes to the error exception handling in the Java HDF wrappers. These changes fix an issue that affected the display of HDF4 files in HDFView.

HDFView uses and is packaged with the Java HDF Object package. The native interfaces for Java HDF (JHI) and Java HDF5 (JHI5) consist of the Java classes and C interface libraries.
